This article is a step by step guide to making your first sale online if you are new to internet marketing. This strategy is great for beginners because you do not need a list, a website, or any technical skills! Also, there is no risk because you do not have any costs until after you sell a product, and you get to set your sales price. If you can use email and Amazon.com then you can implement this strategy today in about 30 minutes. This is not a way to make millions of dollars, but it is a way to get started quickly so you can have that first step under your belt.
1. Sign up as a seller at Amazon.com (free!)
2. Rummage around in your house and garage and find 10 books, CDs or DVDs in decent condition (don't have to be in great condition)
3. Click "sell my stuff" on Amazon once you're logged in
4. Enter the ISBN number from the back of the book (or the UPC code or other ID number if it's a CD or DVD)
5. Make sure Amazon recognized your ISBN number or other ID number and knows what you're selling
6. Be honest about the condition of the item
7. See what the lowest price is for other of the same item by clicking on Amazon Marketplace on the right
8. Enter the lowest price for the item in same condition
9. Enter a comment like "Quick shipping guaranteed" in the condition comments line
10. Check yes to all of the expensive shipping options like expedited and international (this is where you can double or triple your profits every once in a while!)
11. List all 10 of your items, and wait for them to sell. Check your account daily so you're not late with shipping anyone's stuff. You want good reviews...
12. Ship them and Amazon will automatically deposit the money into your bank account
13. Repeat next week or tomorrow or whenever you want to.
When you run out of books, go to a local garage sale at about 12:00 noon when the people are wrapping up and there are lots of books left and they are desperate to get rid of them. Negotiate to buy all their used, decent condition books for $0.25 each. This way you will have a virtually never ending supply of inventory to feed your business at a very low cost.
I know this is not a million dollar system, but the beautiful thing is anyone can do it and it will convince you that there is a market out there on the Internet for just about everything, and all you really need to do to be successful is find products and services to satisfy the demand.
